Day 9, 29/06/10 - Mt Kailash, Tibet

It was a long overland journey to Old Tingri today, enroute our driver had to do a inventive repair job on our Landcruiser as the brake fluid unit was badly ruptured. Given some of the hairpin descents I'm glad he kept checking and re-checking his handy work, whoa wouldn't want to lose control on any of those edges!

As we approached Old Tingri the scenery changed, we were now starting to see a few cultivated terraces and here, in the form of ruins were the visible traces of disbanded military compounds (presumably from before the occupation & cultural revolution).
