Day 3, 23/11/09: Reiki - Nepal
Up this morning for a quick breakfast on the rooftop veranda & 3 quick kora's of the Stoupa. Now I say quick but quick it most definitely wasn't! Me being me meant that I was once again drawn in by every art shop I saw - the current painting tally is holding at a respectable 3! Mind you the Gold Mandala is something pretty special.
We hopped on our bus destined for Nagakot and in all honesty it felt good to be back on the move! It would seem that since I was here last a lot of changes have taken place, the land for one seems more cultivated; in areas that previously were limited as paddy fields suddenly are now filled with crop: cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, potato, carrots all growing in abundance.
The drive to Nagakot or more precisely the drive to the 'Hotel at the end of the universe' (Damn that could so have been a Star Wars film!) only took about 2hrs. Hmm initial thoughts...or should that read initial thoughts positively spun...it's got to be character building sleeping in a dark, damp, wooden shed?! Right?!
The Reiki room however was lovely; the view looking out across the valley towards Langtang was stunning, made even better by eagles effortlessly soaring. We were given an introduction to Reiki this evening, which for my benefit proved invaluable. You see I'm here, I'm on a reiki course, but in all honesty I have no idea what any of that actually means! Like I said the introduction proved invaluable!
After chatting over dinner we headed back to our shacks; earlier today a spider had run over my hand, I smacked my book down to squish it only to see it scurry off down the side of my pillow! Oh F*ck! Tonight whilst sat reading I had a strange urge to shine my head torch above where I was sleeping (pillow end); to my absolute horror there was a whole nest of these spiders...web, eggs, the lot!!
