Ian & I led this morning, it was the same route we'd followed up the solei valley; the temperature was hot and both the horsefly & mosquitoes were rife. We had a good path for the majority of the way, but as confidence grew our paths visibility diminished; subsequently...both the confidence & the path disappeared altogether. Jaya firstly commented, 'why have you lost the path?' ...Erm what like we would actually 'choose' to lose the path?'
She then suggested we head towards the river, whilst heading to the river we had to bush-crash, then she said, 'why are we bush-crashing?' ...Erm because you've just told us to head to the river! Man, this short term memory loss is getting on my nerves a bit today; one minute she says its all our decision and that she trusts us, the next she's jumping in patronising us; Just chillout woman - its bad enough the horsefly biting our arses without you joining in as well!
Evans kept losing items off his pack and it wasn't long before Ben & Jaya had to repack his bag. By the time we reached the beach we were all knackered, saw two condors on the cliff top & all sat chatting, Dale found an amazing spot to camp just off the beach, so we pitched up early. Nic & I did a joint effort on the Beanfeast & she also taped up her badly split fingers; Ian cooked up some pukka flatbreads to accompany the meal - it was almost conventional.
