Lessons this morning; then we roped up to take a look at a possible route over the firn line. I was 4th on the 1st rope team with Ben (1), Ian (2) & Dale (3). We reached the top edge of the firn line but soon turned back; the ground was getting pretty soft. What we had seen in that short time looked beautiful, I couldn't wait to get on with it.
Once back at camp we loaded up and named our sleds. We decided to call ours 'Ariel mark 2' after all the first Ariel was like carrying a dead weight, so we might as well be dragging one this time! It was obviously a toss up between that and the 'crazy frog' I mean let's face it we had to name it after the person who'd made the biggest impression on us!! I often wondered at times if Nic felt as infuriated with the woman as I did or if it was just a personal vendetta on my part, because if I'm honest I have to admit that from day 1 I'd never made any effort to get to know Ariel; poor show and something which I'm not particularly proud of.
