Day 10, 13/11/07 - Patagonia Northern Icecap
Packed up & left camp at 8:00am this morning, ascended along the same route as yesterday, travelling approx 100m past the stash onto the snowline. Dropped our load and then headed back down to the stash to collect the rest of the gear. This was our first night camping on the snow line, the site was suitably sheltered by the trees which would hopefully mean for a quiet nights' sleep, well less Ariel of course!
We needed to collect 12 sticks to bury to use instead of tent pegs, Ariel, Nic & myself headed in different directions to make the collection. Nic and I returned and pitched the tent. Approx 30mins later Ariel returned with a huge pile of sticks - great job girl 'efficiency' should be your middle name.
Really pleased with how we pitched the tent, shame yet again we always seem to be the last to get anything done; it's really starting to feel like there are only 2 people in our tent. Jaya put up the mega mid so we could cook and eat in it - got a really really numb & cold arse sitting in it. Oh & the usual question, 'does this water need purifying?' got asked for the umpteenth time!
